Work Capsule Wardrobe

Not a long time ago I had a request for a work capsule wardrobe. Since I started to work in a corporate office I am the one who has to wear professionally as well. On another hand not all offices are so strict in dress codes, so I prepared more relaxed but still professional work capsule wardrobe.

Work Capsule Wardrobe

Work wardrobe should be full of high-quality basics as we wear it all the time. It is a wardrobe that can be easily mixed and matched and even if you wear the same items every day it can be dressed differently. Accessories make a big difference in your work capsule wardrobe. They add the pop of colour or change the look.

Basics

Trousers – high-quality trousers will take you from your desk to all necessary meetings. You can wear them every day and in all seasons. Well fitted trousers will look great with a white shirt, blouse but even with a simple sweater. The fit should be easily dressed in high heels and low heels as well. The straight fit is the most versatile, and when you add slim or wide you’ll be perfectly fine for a week.

Shirt – classic cotton white shirt is a must. Add silk shirt in white, black or any of your favourite colours and you have already so many outfits.

Blouse – if you like to add a feminine touch the easiest way is to add an interesting blouse or a simple blouse with interesting detail. You don’t need to wear a skirt to look feminine. Little details make a difference.

Skirt – we are lucky we have options, men don’t. In a more casual office, you can go for any type but don’t go too short. I added my favourite silk. I love to wear them with t-shirts and sweaters.

Dress – under the sleeveless dress you can wear a shirt or turtleneck in the winter and you still keep their work appropriately.

Sweater – This is all that you can wear in the winter. Add a scarf or nice jewellery and you have an effortless outfit.

T-shirts – when you know you stay in the office for a whole day you can wear a simple t-shirt. With the blazer, heels no one even notices and you will feel so comfortable. Outerwear – wool coat for winter. Trenchcoat from spring to late fall and a blazer for all seasons. That’s all that you need to add to your wardrobe. I included an oversize blazer, you will feel more relaxed and comfortable and not tightened in the skinny blazer.

Shoes – high heels are a must, for comfort leather loafers and for winter boots. If you live in a warmer climate or for hot summers you will need to add sandals and these options are easy and work-appropriate choices.

Bag– large leather tote and a little crossbody bag. You don’t need to change the bag every day, less to worry about forgetting your necessities.

Accessories – a silk scarf, gloves, hat or sunglasses are a really important part of your work wardrobe.

As always I created a really neutral capsule wardrobe, but this is not restricted in colours. You can choose any accent colour in your work wardrobe. The easiest item where you can add the colour is the sweater or blouse. When you keep the bottoms in neutrals it will be easier to match with the tops.
