Finally, we reached the summer months and our capsule wardrobes adjusted to the heat. For some of us, it can mean a few months of fashion outfits or for others, it can be a difficult time when we are stuck we the outfit possibilities. And I belong to the ‘ confused ‘ group. I like to feel good and comfortable but also need to look professional. That means tank tops and shorts are out of the game. Until last year when I fell in love with summer dresses, especially minimalist-style summer dresses. Florals and frills are not for me. But cotton or linen in a simple design and neutral colour is my go-to minimalist summer dress. More and more brands coming with simple designs in neutral colours. One of the first brands to lead this trend was the COS store with its minimalist style. No surprise they become really popular as you can style minimalist simple looking dresses with anything and you will always look and feel great. You can wear them with heels for a professional office look but they also look great with a pair of trainers for a more casual weekend approach. Minimalist summer dresses will serve you well for a day in the office but you can easily take them to the beach. And that’s the kind of dress that we like to add to our capsule wardrobe.

I love to wear my minimalist summer dresses with slides for the hottest days. Or with the trainers when there is too much running around. Or add your favourite summer hat, swap the bag and never forget big sunnies for the effortless celebrity look.

When there is nothing really eye-catching you need to pay attention to details. I like that most of the modern minimalist dresses have pockets or the midi length. If they come with a belt, it is made of the same fabric and colour as the dress. The minimalist dress is mostly made of cotton, linen or silk in neutral colours for easy styling with the rest of your wardrobe.
